Swati Puchalapalli is the Director of Terra Viridis, a green building consulting firm located in Hyderabad, India. She has been interested in sustainability since she was a child, and this interest grew into her career.
In 2008 Swati got the opportunity to work on a new home for Aarti Home, an organization that serves as a safe haven for children who are victims of neglect and abuse. She took this project as a “chance to create a low-cost community that was not only net-zero, but also comfortable, healthy, and highly sensitive for the local ecosystem,” she explains.
The challenges of this new decade have highlighted the vast inequalities facing communities around the world. How does your work help address the intersection of environmental justice, social equity, and human health and wellbeing? Share your story.
