“The way in which [Austin’s Mueller community] is being enjoyed and appreciated by the community is just proof that there are alternatives to the standard way of doing things and they can be enormously successful,” says Sarah Talkington.

Sarah Talkington is the manager of Austin Energy Green Building’s commercial team, but she has also earned titles and certifications as a licensed professional engineer, LEED AP (Accredited Professional) BD+C, Certified Energy Manager, TRUE Adviser, WELL AP, and 2019 LEED Fellow. And at the nonprofit Austin Energy, Sarah works with her team to deliver power to almost 1 million people in Austin, as well as most of Travis and Williamson counties.

She continues, saying “it’s proof that sustainability works and is something that anybody can enjoy and make their lives better.”
