Emily Olubunmi knows firsthand the ripple effects that learning about sustainability at a young age can have. Her sustainability journey began in elementary school on a field trip, and now she’s a teacher, Green Classroom Professional, Greenbuild scholarship recipient, and newly-elected Vice Chair of USGBC’s Oklahoma Market Leadership Advisory Board.

In her story for Living Standard, she explains how the Green Classroom Professional certificate program courses helped her “better understand the things we can do, especially as teachers, to impact children. And now those children are impacting their families, and families can impact the community.”

Building and maintaining resilient, green communities will be humanity’s best way to combat the growing threat of climate change and to address concurrent environmental and health crises. What are you doing to help meet these challenges? Share your story.
