Saint-Gobain has been around for more than 350 years, largely in the building materials space. A R Unnikrishnan, the Managing Director of Saint-Gobain India’s glass business, discusses the importance of having sustainability not only as part of a person or organization’s values system and culture, but also as a long-term vision and commitment.

He explains, “Many people talk about 2050—30 years from now—many of us may not even be alive by that time so how does it matter? … So many buildings are yet to be built. And what you build today is going to last for the next 30, 40, or 50 years, so it’s important to think in advance and develop product solutions from that point of view.”

Building and maintaining resilient, green communities will be humanity’s best way to combat the growing threat of climate change and to address concurrent environmental and health crises. What are you doing to help meet these challenges? Share your story.
